Polley, James (1848? - Feb 1925)

(Owen Enterprise)

James Polley, after whom the village of Polley was named, died Monday at the Luther Hospital at Eau Claire, to which institution he was taken about three weeks ago, suffering from pneumonia. Fifty-three years ago Mr. Polley built his first residence in Eau Claire on the property now occupied by the Luther Hospital. He was 76 years of age and after leaving Eau Claire has made Polley his home until his death. He was a pioneer of that section.
