LEICHTNAM SCHMIDT ZIMMER ----Source: WEEKLY
CLARION (Dorchester, Clark Co., WI) 09/25/1925 Leichtnam, Elsie
A. (26 JUN 1889 - 23 Sep 1925) Mrs. Albert
Leichtnam died at their farm home 3 1/2 miles southwest of the
village (Dorchester, Clark County, Wis.), Wednesday evening, Sept.
23rd, 1925, after an illness of several weeks, at the age of 36
years, 2 months and 27 days. The funeral
services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the farm
home and at 2 o'clock at the Little White Church, Rev. Paul F.
Walter officiating, and she will be laid at rest in the cemetery
south of town beside her little ones. Elsie Anna Schmidt
was born at the Schmidt farm home southwest of town June 26th,
1889, the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Schmidt. Mr.
Schmidt is our village president. She was raised and enjoyed the
same beloved surroundings all through babyhood and girlhood and oon
June 23rd, 1909 was married there to Albert Leichtnam by Rev. John
Marks. They lived more
than a year with her parents, then they moved to Abbotsford where
they lived only a short time, when they purchased the farm which
has since been their home. Four children were
born to them, three of who were waiting on the golden shore for her
coming and one, a son, Archie, 15 years old, with her husband,
survive her. Besides her husband and son, she leaves her aged
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt, one sister, Mrs. Bertha Zimmer of
Thorp, and two brothers, William of Rib Lake and Charles of
Milan. When one thinks of
Mrs. Leichtnam, you think of a cheery, jolly lady with a big smile,
always willing and ready to help anyone in need or anything for the
good of her community. It did one good just to talk to her for a
few minutes because she made you feel that life was worth while.
And surely anyone who does that has fulfilled the highest that God
expects of anyone. May those who
mourn be comforted by the thought of her beautiful life. God, in
His infinite wisdom cut the blossom in its fullest bloom and
transplanted it in His garden where the cold and frost of this
world can never touch it. The host of
friends in Dorchester country join us in offering the hand of
sympathy and understanding to those who have sustained this great
loss. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
