Roder, Violette V. (29 OCT 1924)

Two very pretty wedding took place on Wednesday, Oct. 29th, 1924. One at nine o'clock at the Catholic Church at Wuertzburg when Violette Vera Roder was united in marriage to Mr. Fred E. Timm of Athens, Rev. Muehlenkamp officiating.

Her twin sister, Viola was maid of honor and Miss Irene Notbohm of Abbotsford, acted as bridesmaid. Grant Pope of Dorchester and Harlow Roder, a brother of the bride, acted as best men. Miss Viola wore a medium blue knitted crepe dress trimmed with lace net while the bridesmaid, Miss Notbohm, wore a pink radium silk trimmed with lace.

At eleven o'clock a.m., Miss Viola Vivian was untied in marriage to Mr. Grant Pope of Dorchester, Clark County, Wis. The ceremony was performed by Rev. R. E. Holder of Athens at the St. John's Evangelical Church at Milan.

The maid of honor was her twin sister and the bridesmaids were Caroline Griddle and Irene Notbohm. Miss Griddle wore a dress of powdered blue crepe de chine while Miss Notbohm wore a pink radium silk trimmed with lace.

The best man was Fred Timm of Wuertzburg. The groomsmen were Clyde Pope and Harlow Roder.

The wedding march was very beautifully played by Mrs. Holder of Athens.

Both brides wore dresses of white silk flat crepe trimmed with wide lace and carried shower bouquets of chrysanthemums and pink roses.

Each wore silk veils with silver wreaths.

The men all wore conventionally dark blue suits.

A reception for both couples was held at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Roder. About 300 guests were present.

The churches and homes were very beautifully decorated in pink, white and blue crepe paper.

At the reception held at the home a beautiful oblong wedding cake adorned with two ornaments symbolizing the wedding of the twin brides was cut and distributed to the guests.

Viola and Violette have gown up from childhood in this community and have been two of our most popular young ladies.

Mr. Pope and Mr. Timm are both successful young farmers, and both couples have hosts of friends who extend to them their best wishes for a happy and long wedded life.

Mr. and Mrs. Timm will make their future home at Wuertzburg and Mr. and Mrs. Pope in Dorchester.
