CLARION (Dorchester, Clark Co, WI) 11/14/1924 Baehr, Elna (6 NOV
1924) On Thursday
afternoon, Nov. 6th, 1924, Miss Elna Baehr, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Arthur Baehr, was united in marriage to Mr. Herbert Wilhelmi,
at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Rev. V. M. Kieper officiating. At 1:30 the
bridesmaids, the Misses Norma and Clara Baehr, sister and cousin of
the bride, entered the church slowly, followed by the groomsmen
attending the groom. Then appeared the bride accompanied by her
father, who gave the bride away during the ceremony. They were met
by the groom, who had superceded the father leading the bride to
the altar. Rev. Kieper preached a very fitting sermon. The bride was
lovely in a beautiful gown of white satin trimmed with shadow lace
and her veil was arranged in the shape of a crown, set with pearls.
She carried a shower bouquet of pink roses and chrysanthemums. The
lady attendants wore tan silk dresses trimmed with lace and a gold
band as head dress. After the ceremony
they all repaired to the home of the bride's parents where a
bountiful repast was served to about eighty-five guests. The home was
daintily decorated in pink and white with green ferns. The Misses
Cora and Dora Schilling, Mildred Voss, and Alice Nixdorf waited on
the table and looked after the comfort of the guests. The bride is an
attractive and popular young lady, well known and well liked, and
we shall surely miss her, but our loss is Mr. Wilhelmi's gain so he
is to be congratulated upon his wise choice. The young couple
will leaves Saturday evening for Milwaukee where they will make
their future home. With them goes the wishes of their many
Dorchester friends for a happy journey through life together. Those from out of
