Runzheimer, Walter H. (23 Feb. 1910 - 17 Jan. 2005)

COLBY, WIS. - Walter H. Runzheimer, age 94, of Milton Senior Living, Milton, and formerly of Colby, Wisconsin, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at Mercy Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer, with the Rev. Karl Rose officiating. Interment will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery. Friends May call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Community Funeral Home, Colby, and again from noon to service time Thursday at the church in Spencer. Memorials will be designated at a later date.

He was born Feb. 23, 1910, in Neenah, the son of Henry F. and Anna (Wiersig) Runzheimer. He attended Zion Lutheran School in Colby and graduated from Colby High School in 1927. Walter married Lorinda G. Parsch at St. John's Lutheran Church, town of Easton, Wausau, on June 21, 1938, and together they lived their entire life in town of Hull, Marathon County. He worked as a fuel hauler for the Big-4 Cooperative in Spencer and then for Mutual Service as an insurance agent as well as an agent for various other companies. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer, and was active in the Walther League and the Lutheran Laymen's League. Walter and Lorinda moved to Milton in September 2004 to be nearer to their children.

Walter is survived by his wife, Lorinda; six children, Karen (Ray) Redmann of Janesville, Lofton (Kitty) Lee Runzheimer of Northfield, Minn., James (Janice) Runzheimer of Arlington, Texas, Beverly (John) Yagow of Watertown, Susan (Jamil) Khan of Janesville and Mark (Carol) Runzheimer of Delafield; 15 grandchildren, Dean, Dawn and David Redmann, Jane and Kurt Runzheimer, Daniel, Sarah and Kristin Runzheimer, Deborah Yagow, Marie, Taimur, Babur and Anna Khan and Aric and Evan Runzheimer; four great-grandchildren, Jessica, Luke, Marie and Rachel; and two sisters, Anita Weller of Marshfield and Litta Ehlers of Milwaukee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ervin Runzheimer; sister, Olga Richards; and two brothers-in-law, Erwin Weller and Raymond Ehlers.
