Clarence R. Hagedorn
Clarence R. Hagedorn, age 78, of W4223 Kiekhaefer Pkwy., Fond du Lac, died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at his residence.
He was born April 15, 1926, in Neillsville, Wis., the son of Richard and Ida Dux Hagedorn.
On June 25, 1949, he married Anola Tews at Veefkind Lutheran Church in Spencer, Wis.
Clarence was with the 8th Army occupational forces of Japan from 1946 to 1947. He graduated from Fond du Lac Business College in 1951. In 1957, he obtained his CPA license and opened his own firm. Then, in 1976, he merged his firm with Schenck and Associates, retiring in 1990.
He was a member of the American Institute of CPA’s, and served as Chairman of the Wisconsin Institute of CPA’s northern chapter, in 1975-76. Clarence also served on the MPTI Accounting Advisory Board, Board of Directors-Noon Kiwanis, Advisory Board-Salvation Army, Past President of Fond du Lac Jaycees, and recipient of the Rusch Memorial Award.
Clarence has been a member of Hope Lutheran Church for 55 years, and served as treasurer from 1951-89. He was currently serving as chairman of the Hope Scholarship and Endowment fund. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and card player. He loved to garden, make fine chocolates, and feed the birds and deer. He loved his family and was an avid Lake Michigan fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Anola of Fond du Lac; his children and grandchildren, Scott (Alexi) Hagedorn of Crystal Lake, Ill., and their children, Amy, Ashley, and Brooke; Linda (Paul) Higdon of Elkhorn, and their children, Lars and Nils; Randy (Barb) Hagedorn of Mayville, and their daughter Brittany; and Heidi (Peter) Jundt of Racine, and their son Isaac; and two sisters, Loraine (Bob) Shaw of Neillsville and Marie Meier of Las Vegas, Nev.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Nelda Hoffmann and Louise Howard; infant son, Ronald who died Dec. 12, 1957; and grandsons, Benjamin and Samuel Jundt. On April 29, 2004, six-year-old Jacob Jundt also went to be with Jesus.
• Services: Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at Hope Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Gomez officiating. Entombment will follow at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park. Trier-Puddy American Legion Post No.75 will conduct military services at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum.
• Visitation: Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Friends May also call from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Tuesday at the church.
Memorials are appreciated to Make a Wish Foundation or Mayo Research Foundation of Pulmonary Fibrosis.
