The children of J. H. Schumacher had a narrow escape from serious injury one day last week. Mr. Schumacher was at work on the farm and his wife had left the house for a short time when a dynamite cap was exploded, the children do knot know how. A hole was torn in the table around which the children were sitting, the skin on the side of the baby’s head was bruised and one of the oldest girl’s hands slightly injured. It was a fortunate escape.

Mrs. Chas. Clark is entertaining her father Mr. Ives this week.

Geo. Horrell, of Humbird, was a caller here the first of the week.

C. D. Fowler and wife, of Humbird, were callers here Wednesday evening.

Dell Murry left Thursday for Montana where he will look for a homestead.

A large crowd of people were in attendance at the auction at John Vanderpleg’s Thursday. A..L. Reynolds is loading four cars of cows and one of merchandise here this week for his ranches in Montana.

J. C. Hahn spent Friday afternoon in Fairchild.\Albert Matti, who bought Chester Crandell’s farm, moved onto it this week.

E. M. Monroe came down from Augusta Thursday noon to see his brother John who is quite sick.
