Kleist, Paul 'Red' V. (4 Sept. 1920 - 26 Jan. 2005) w/flag MEDFORD - Paul "Red" V. Kleist, 84, of Medford died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at Clark County Health Care Center in Owen.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at United Church of Christ in Medford. Military veterans' rites will be conducted following services at the church.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford is assisting the family with arrangements.
He was born Sept. 4, 1920, in Medford to Paul and Victoria Christine (Slais) Kleist. He married Margaret Marshall on Nov. 26, 1947, and she died March 29, 1998. He had served in England and France with the U.S. Army during World War II. He established Kleist Trucking, which he co-owned and co-operated with his brother until his 1985 retirement.
He is survived by four sons, Marshall (Shirley) Kleist and Marc (Mary Lynn) Kleist, all of Medford, Jim Kleist, Wausau, and Jon (Joan) Kleist, Sheboygan; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley (Walter "Butch") Lindahl and Mary Lou (Herman) Pernsteiner, all of Medford; and two half-sisters, Sandy (William) Knutson and Karen LeBaron, all of Augusta.
