Gravitter, Rose A. (3 OCT 1897 - Jan 1929)

Mrs. Joseph Gravitter, 32, wife of Joseph Gravitter, a member of the Marshfield police department, died in St. Joseph’s Hospital where she had been receiving treatment for cancer since Nov. 3 last. Mrs. Gravitter had been in ill health the past six years but the illness did not become acute until last fall.

The deceased was born October 3, 1897, in the town of Loyal. Her maiden name was Rose Anna Windell. She was educated in the Loyal Catholic school and was married on Nov. 13, 1918.

For a few months after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Gravitter resided on a farm in the town of Sherman, three miles west of the village of Spencer, and then moved to Marshfield. Their only daughter, Florence, 8, was born in this city. Mrs. Gravitter was one of three sisters who married three brothers. Besides her husband and daughter she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Windell, town of Loyal; three sisters, Mrs. Rudolph Gravitter, Marshfield; Mrs. Paul Gravitter, Greenwood; Mrs. John Steger, Loyal and two brothers, Joseph and Frank Windell, Loyal.

Funeral services will be held in St. John’s Catholic church at 9:00 on Tuesday morning, Jan. 15. Burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery in this city.

Mrs. Gravitter was a member of the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin.
