CHARIVARI SHOWER

There was music in the air Friday evening, March 15th when Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pieper arrived at their future home, the farm of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Nelson. At first it was thought Sousa had made an unannounced visit, but the usual "drums" soon tuned and properly operated. The charivari group made their purchases the same evening a party followed at the Wm. Nelson home.

On Saturday evening March 16th, Mrs. Reno Herdrich and Miss Minnie Schueler entertained at a shower at the Wm. Nelson home for the young people. About sixty friends and neighbors were assembled. The evening was spent in card playing for the older people and bunco for the children. First places in cards were won by Mrs. R. K. Stevens and Louis Pachel. Booby prizes were won by Mrs. Herman Litka and Mr. Floyd Gardner.

After the games many beautiful and useful gifts were received, which was followed by a delicious plate lunch served by Mrs. Wm. Nelson and Mrs. Herdrich. All had a very enjoyable evening. The guests departed about one thirty extending hearty, sincere wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Pieper for a long and happy wedded life.
