HARLAND H GEHRT
Harland Gehrt, age 79, of Neillsville, died Wednesday June 10, 1998 at the Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville.
Harland Harry Gehrt was born April 7, 1919 in Neillsville, the son of Harry and Marie (Baumel) Gehrt. He attended the Silver Crest School in Pine Valley and then worked for various neighboring farmers. He eventually purchased his own farm, which he operated for many years. On May 16, 1947 he was united in marriage to Velma Bardeleben. Velma died on December 9, 1977. After Velma’s death, Harland sold the farm and moved into Neillsville.
Surviving Harland is his brother Everett (Jannette) Gehrt of Loyal, a sister-in-law, Alice Gehrt of Wisconsin Rapids; and eight nephews and nieces.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Velma; a brother Walter; a nephew Robert Gehrt and his parents.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 12, 1998 at the Gesche Funeral Home. Pastor Evan Butterbrodt officiated. Music was provided by Eileen Zank, organist and Pastor Mary Anne Conklin, soloist. Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Casket bearers were: Harold Embke, Harry Gehrt, Clifford Karl, Tim McQuade, Richard Vine and Frank Zank.
