The Rev. Patrick Kelley officiated at a wedding mass at 3:30 p.m., July 31, 1976
at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Abbotsford, when vows were exchanged by Susan
Nikolay and Thomas Bogaard, both of Abbotsford.
The bride was escorted by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Nikolay, Abbotsford,
to be presented in marriage to the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bogaard,
Abbotsford.
Mrs. Helen Schultz was the organist and Randy Poss sang.
Mrs. Lynn Scotch, sister of the bride, was matron of honor, with Mrs. Susan
Jaberg and Lois Koch serving as bridesmaids.
The bride wore a floor length bridal gown of Polyester double knit in the empire
style, with the skirt ending in a chapel train, with imported Irish lace at the
neckline and bodice with seed pearls. Her bouffant veil fell from a matching
lace Camelot.
The bridesmaids wore floor length gowns of yellow dotted Swiss in the empire
style, with bolero jackets and matching picture hats.
John Bayenbrauch acted as best man. Serving as groomsmen were Bill Bogaard,
brother of the groom, and Wayne Lebakken.
Ushers were Randy Grambort and Russell Soyk.
The wedding mass was followed by dinner at the church and reception at
Meadowview Country Club, Owen.
Mr. and Mrs. Bogaard both graduated in 1976 from UW-Stout. Mrs. Bogaard will be
teaching at St. John’s School, Antigo, the fall term, and Bogaard is employed by
Phillips Plastics Corporation, Medford Division.

The Rev. Merle A. Aker performed the 1 p.m. marriage ceremony of Corine Rae
Kalepp and R. Mark Franks on July 17, 1976 in the garden of Century House in
Pleasanton, California.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Lavern F. Kalepp, Pleasanton, California,
former Abbotsford residents; and Mr. and Mrs. Randall T. Franks, San Jose,
California.
The bride wore a white gown of imported Knottingham lace featuring a scalloped
Bertha collar with a tiered skirt. Her flowers were white rose buds with baby’s
breath.
Sheri Kreglo, San Bruno, California, a friend of the bride, was the bridal
attendant. She wore a mint green dotted Swiss gown with a halter top. Yellow
rose buds with baby’s breath flowers completed her ensemble.
Rick Klino, Pleasanton, California, friend of the bridegroom, was best man.
A reception was held at the Century House following the ceremony.
Out of town guests included the bride’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William
Kalepp, and her uncle, Ken Kalepp, all of Abbotsford.

Stoneham, Massachusetts; Mr. and Mrs. John Laabs, Grafton; Mr. and Mrs. Ben
Laabs, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Laabs and two sons, Black River Falls; Mr.
and Mrs. George Pease, Eureka Springs, Arkansas; Mrs. Martha Laabs, Marshfield;
and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Laabs, Jr., Mrs. Margaret Laabs, and Lester Krueger, all
of Curtiss.
They plan to meet at the home of James Laabs in Bettendorf, Iowa for their
reunion next year.

Gregory Teske, a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, has
joined the staff at the PCA Branch Office in Thorp.
Teske was born and raised on a dairy farm near Wausau, and graduated from Wausau
West High School in 1972. He graduated from the UW-Madison with a Bachelor of
Science degree in dairy science, in 1976.
Teske began his duties as farm loan officer on June 1, 1976. He will be
assisting Branch Manager Bruce Wickman and Senior Loan Officer Dell Wacker at
the PCA office in Thorp.

County Honey Queen during the Wausau Fair activities recently. Miss Olson will

Dedication of the new Green Grove Athletic Field took place in Atwood Sunday
during a fast pitch softball tournament played on the new ball field. Hundreds
of people were on hand during the weekend activities.
Park dedication committee members are: Myron Ewert, Route 2, Colby; Mr. and Mrs.
George Rankel, Route 2, Colby; Vernon Sommer, Route 1, Curtiss, and Emil
Untiedt, Jr., Route 1, Curtiss.
Mr. and Mrs. Rankel donated money for the park in honor of their son’s memory.

Wilde, Scott (1953? – 17 Aug 1976)
Funeral services were held Friday, August 20, 1976 for Scott Wilde, 23, Hales
Corners, at the F.J. Borgwardt Sons Funeral Home in Holes Corners. Burial
followed at Good Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Wilde was killed Tuesday, August 17 when a motorcycle he was driving ran
into a car turning in front of him on a Muskego street.
He is survived by his mother, Carole Smith, Los Angeles, his father, Eugene
Wilde, Colby; five sisters, Tami DeiGallo and Robin Smith, both of Boston, James
McAdams, Hales Corner, and Dawn and Donna Jo, Colby; one brother, Dean, Colby,
and his grandmothers, Mrs. Helen Wilde, Colby, and Mrs. Beatrice Smith, Hales
Corners.
Those attending the funeral from this area included Mrs. Wilde, Mr. and Mrs.
Eugene Wilde and children, Dean and Dawn, Ruth Gabriel and Gail Wagner, all of
Colby, and Carmel Ellenbecker, Unity.
