CLARENCE A STIEMKE
Services for Clarence A Stiemke, age 88, Tomah, were held Tues. May 3, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tomah, WI. The Rev. Dale Raether officiated. Burial was in Pine Valley Cemetery, Neillsville.
Clarence died Fri. April 29, 1988, in Tomah Care Center, at Tomah, WI.
Clarence was born July 4, 1899, in Farmington to Robert and Sophia (Oppermann) Stiemke. On March 19, 1949, he married Emma Swanson in LaCrosse, WI.
A self-employed dairy farmer for 20 years in the Neillsville area, in 1942 he moved to Tomah, where he worked as a bus driver for the Tomah School District. He also worked for the Tomah City Parks Department.
He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Further notes by the transcriber, Dolores Mohr Kenyon: Clarence Stiemke first married Bertha A Mohr daughter of Andrew and Wilhelmine ‘Minnie' (Thelke) Mohr, on Sept. 14, 1924. They later were divorced. Children born to Clarence and Bertha were: Florence (1st John Arganek) (2nd Irvin Moore) of Kalispell, MT and Lorraine (1st Ralph Gottschalk) (2nd Robert Gaylard) of Iverness, FL and an infant girl who died in infancy.
