Vater, Anita Caroline (20 Feb. 1913 - 23 May 2004)

WITHEE - Anita Caroline Vater, age 91, of Withee passed away Sunday, May 23, 2004, at Clark County Health Care Center in Owen.

A memorial service for Anita will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2004, at Clark County Health Care Center Chapel in Owen with the Rev. Terri Blomberg officiating. The Cremation Society of Wisconsin is serving the family.

She was born Feb. 20, 1913, in the town of Beaver, Clark County, to William and Adela (Knuth) Draheim.

Anita married Carl R. Vater July 10, 1934, and together they worked in Chicago during the war. They moved to the Withee area in 1948. Anita and Carl spent 25 years employed at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen, with Carl in maintenance, and Anita the head of the sewing room. After retirement they spent many years at their Withee home. Anita enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Historical Society.

She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Carl; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter, Raymond and Ralph, who died in infancy, and one sister, Irene Youman.
