Fults, Ruby Marie Elizabeth (19 April 1915 - 2005)

ABBOTSFORD - Ruby Marie Elizabeth Fults, 89, formerly of Abbotsford, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at Colonial Center in Colby.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at First Presbyterian Church in Abbotsford. The Rev. Keith Jones will officiate.

Burial will be in Abbotsford Public Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jack Wild, Richard Goldschmidt, Edward Pacholke, Justin Fults, John Knight and Lynn Vetterkind.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford and from 10 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the church.

Ruby Pacholke was born April 19, 1915, in Marathon County to John and Mary (Fuhrman) Pacholke. She attended Colby High School. Ruby and Edwin Fults were married on Sept. 12, 1933, in Colby. He died on July 30, 1959. After their marriage, they moved to Stetsonville and operated the Stetsonville Oil Company, delivering gas and oil to area customers. During World War II, she found time to correspond with area service men. The Fults moved to Abbotsford in 1948, where they operated the Abbotsford Oil Company and she was their bookkeeper until 1959. Ruby worked as a cook for the Abbotsford School District from1966 to 1985. She also found time to be a Cub Scout leader and a 4-H leader. Ruby owned and operated an antique business in her home for 35 years starting in 1965 called Ruby's Antiques.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was a bookkeeper for 27 years. She enjoyed flea markets, auctions, reading and bowling.

Ruby is survived by her children, Jerry (Sandra) Fults of Owen and Sandra (Gordon) Knight of Colby; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and her brother, Herbert Pacholke of Cable.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin; and one grandson, Allen Knight, on March 23, 1974.
