OLEARY-Emma O'Leary

NEILLSVILLE

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home for Mrs. Emma A. O'Leary, 92, of Humbird. She died Sunday evening at Memorial Home.

The Rev. Clarence Arquette will be officiate. Burial will take place in the Town of Mentor Cemetery.

Visitations May be made at the funeral home from 3 to 9 p.m. today and Wednesday morning until the time of the services.

The former Emma A. Putman was born Sept. 20, 1883, in the Town of Bridge Creek, Diamond Valley, near Augusta. As a young girl she moved with her parents to the Town of Mentor, where she received her education. She was married on Dec. 24, 1901, at Humbird to Peter O'Leary, and they operated a farm in the Town of Mentor for many years. Her husband died Jan. 3(5), 1949.

She was a member of the Undenominational Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jake (Viola) Fitzmaurice, Humbird, and Mrs. Velva DeLong, Withee; a son, Russell O'Leary, Humbird; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-granchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

O’Leary, Emma A. (20 September 1901 – 28 March 1976)

A longtime resident of the Town of Mentor, Mrs. Emma A. O’Leary of Humbird, died Sunday, March 28, in Neillsville at the age of 92. Services were to be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home with Clarence Arquette officiating. Burial was to be in the Town of Mentor Cemetery in Humbird.

Mrs. O’Leary, the daughter of John and Amanda Nokes Putman, was born September 20, 1883, in the Town of Bridge Creek Diamond Valley, in the Augusta area. As a young girl, she moved with her parents to the Town of Mentor where she received her education. After her marriage to Peter O’Leary, which took place December 24, 1901, in Humbird, she and her husband farmed in the Town of Mentor for many years. Mr. O’Leary died January 3, 1949. Mrs. O’Leary was a member of the Nondenominational Christian Church.

Surviving are three children, Russell O’Leary and Mrs. Jake (Viola) Fitzmaurice, both of Humbird, and Mrs. Velva Delong of Withee; 12 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
