Nowack, Muriel (2 July 1927 - *12 Nov. 1932) *Could be off
A heart breaking tragedy occurred at Granton, Saturday evening when little Muriel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Nowack of this village, passed away within ten minutes after swallowing a bit of crayon. The object must have been inhaled into the trachea as her collapse was almost instantaneous. Medical care was given immediately but to no avail.
Little Muriel Joyce was 5 years of age July 2; and a particularly bright and lovable child. Besides her parents she is survived by two sisters, Dorothy and Darlene, her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Nowack, her maternal grandfather, M. G. Dorst, a number of uncles and aunts, and a host of loving friends who mourn her untimely passing.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Zion Lutheran church at Mapleworks, Rev. Loesch officiating. The little white flower laden casket was borne to its last resting place in the church cemetery -- Henry Kidd, Bernard Eibergen, Warren Cattanach, and Harry Hornick.
The floral tributes were carried by Fay Quicker, Shirley Lautenbach, Lydia Spaete, and Marian Spry.
The out of town relatives attending the rites were Mrs. E. J. Shelling and son Frederick of Oconto Falls, Miss Mabel Jane Dorst and Albert Huettl of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. C. Dorst and son Walter, Mrs. Paul Lubenow of Sheboygan, Mrs. Henry Wierman and Mrs. Elwood Lee of Waldo.
The heartbroken parents have the deep and heartfelt sympathy of their many friends and acquaintances in the dark hour of their bereavement. "To mortals, her death seems so untimely, But God knows best, He plans sublimely."
