BUFORD L WILDING
Buford L Wilding, age 83, went home to be with his Savior on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005.
Buford was born on May 31, 1921 in Park Falls, the son of Arthur and Mattie (Davis) Wilding. They lived in Tripoli until Buford was seven years old and then the family moved to Neillsville, where he grew up. He married Margaret Gemmeke on August 28, 1940. Buford was an active member (Trustee Emeritus) at The Church Of The Open Door in Milwaukee, for more than 45 years. He joined the Steamfitters Local #601 in October 1952, received his 50 Year Pin and Award in October 2002 and continued his membership until his death. He was a certified Navy Welder at Allis Chalmers, Milwaukee, and worked on the Manhattan Project in 1944. Buford was a M.P. in the Air Force from February 1945 until June 1946 serving in the Philippines during WWII. Buford and Margaret committed their lives to Jesus Christ in 1946.
Surviving Buford is his wife Margaret of 46 years; four children, Douglas (Mary); Dennis (Donna); Karen (Joe) Vosocky; and David: seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Buford were held Saturday, January 8, in Appleton. Rev. Larry Creamer officiated. Graveside services were held at the Neillsville City Cemetery.
