Prevail Bank Donates to O-W Kid’s Meal Program (2022)
Noel Barteck (center) chairperson of the Weekend Owen-Withee Kid’s Meals Program
accepts a check for $1,590 from (l-r) Susan Struensee of Prevail Bank; Linda
Susa, Prevail Bank’s Owen branch manager; Sandy Deacon, president of the
Owen-Withee Lions Club; and Carrie Heltsley of Prevail Bank. These funds were
the result of Prevail Bank’s Holiday Matching Funds Campaign. Prevail Bank and
the Owen-Withee Lions Club matched public’s donations of $530. Submitted photo.
Between public donations and Prevail Bank matching up to $1,000 at each branch
location where donations were collected, a total of $15,162.54 was gifted to
nine local nonprofits as part of Prevail Bank’s Holiday Matching Funds Campaign
in December.
The Owen branch of Prevail Bank chose the Weekend Owen-Withee (W-O-W) Kids’ Meal
Program as the beneficiary of its Holiday Matching Funds Campaign. This program
served children in the Oen-0Withee School District and is affiliated with the
Feed My People organization. These organizations collect and distribute food for
students in need to take home on the weekends when they don’t have access to
school meals. A total donation of $1,590 to the W-O-W Kids’ Meal Program was
made between Prevail Bank, the Owen-Withee Lion’s Club and the public.
“Prevail Bank recognizes the importance of local non-profits and the resources
they provide for those less fortunate in the communities of central Wisconsin,”
wrote Catherine Leifeld of Prevail Bank in a press release.
Each of Prevail Bank’s branches chose a different organization to support.
Besides W-O-W, other programs receiving funds and non-perishable gifts included
the following, listed with the location and donation amount: Ronald McDonald
House Charities, Marshfield, $2,500.77; Christmas is for Children, Eau Claire,
$2,625 (estimated value of 75 wrapped gifts); Park Place Adult Day Services,
Wisconsin Rapids, $260; United Way of Portage County, Stevens Point, $402;
Catholic Charities-Wausau Community Warming Center, $2,120; Taylor County
Supportive Housings, Medford, $2,099.66; Santa’s Elves Foundation, Phillips,
