Hettler, Hilda M. (16 May 1901 - 8 May 1927)

An automobile accident on the night of May 8th proved fatal to Mrs. Frank Hettler, young wife of frank Hettler, who resides on a farm a few miles from Rhinelander. Mrs. Hettler had accompanied some neighbors to town to do some trading, staying for the movie show, and while enroute home the driver lost control while rounding a curve and the car tipped over instantly killing Mrs. Hettler. The rest of the occupants of the car were only slightly scratched.

Funeral and burial services were held at Kennan, birthplace of the deceased, last week Wednesday. She was buried from the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rev. Lorenz officiating and the pallbearers were all old classmates of here (Dorchester, Clark County, Wis.).

Hilda Mae Hettler was the daughter of Julius and Bertha Schroder and was born on May 16, 1901 at Kennan, being 25 years, 11 months and 22 days of age at time of death. In 1923, several years after her marriage to Mr. Hettler, they moved onto a farm near Rhinelander. She is survived by her husband, Frank; four sons, Raymond 7, Warren 5, Lynn 2 ½, and Bobbie 16 months; her mother, Mrs. Bertha Schroder, Kennan; two sisters, Mrs. Kate Stanley, town of Elk, Price Co., and Miss Anna Knapp, at home, and one brother, Paul Knapp, of the town of Elk.

Mrs. Hettler is a niece of Oscar Schroder who attended the funeral.
