CLARION (Dorchester, Clark Co., WI) 05/20/1927 Hettler, Hilda M.
(16 May 1901 - 8 May 1927) An automobile
accident on the night of May 8th proved fatal to Mrs. Frank
Hettler, young wife of frank Hettler, who resides on a farm a few
miles from Rhinelander. Mrs. Hettler had accompanied some neighbors
to town to do some trading, staying for the movie show, and while
enroute home the driver lost control while rounding a curve and the
car tipped over instantly killing Mrs. Hettler. The rest of the
occupants of the car were only slightly scratched. Funeral and burial
services were held at Kennan, birthplace of the deceased, last week
Wednesday. She was buried from the Evangelical Lutheran Church,
Rev. Lorenz officiating and the pallbearers were all old classmates
of here (Dorchester, Clark County, Wis.). Hilda Mae Hettler
was the daughter of Julius and Bertha Schroder and was born on May
16, 1901 at Kennan, being 25 years, 11 months and 22 days of age at
time of death. In 1923, several years after her marriage to Mr.
Hettler, they moved onto a farm near Rhinelander. She is survived
by her husband, Frank; four sons, Raymond 7, Warren 5, Lynn 2
½, and Bobbie 16 months; her mother, Mrs. Bertha Schroder,
Kennan; two sisters, Mrs. Kate Stanley, town of Elk, Price Co., and
Miss Anna Knapp, at home, and one brother, Paul Knapp, of the town
of Elk. Mrs. Hettler is a
