CLARION (Dorchester, Clark Co., WI) 10/07/1927 Hantke, Mrs. Paul
(? - 30 Sep 1927) Mrs. Paul Hantke,
who home is six miles north of Granton, Clark County, Wis., was
brutally murdered at her home last Thursday, Mr. Hantke, who was at
a neighbor's helping fill silo, returned home at noon and
found his brother Gus at the Paul Hantke home, and the body of his
wife lying dead in a closed stairway. The two brothers,
Paul and Gus, have been doing the work of their two farms together
and the refusal of the loan of a corn binder to Gus a short time
before because of the need of it on the Paul Hantke farm is thought
to have hastened Gus in Giving vent to the hate for Mrs. Hantke, to
whom he blamed the refusal. No statement has
been made by Gus but because of circumstantial evidence he is being
held by a warrant for murder in the first degree. Funeral services
were held Monday at the Fischer Church south of Granton, Rev. Buth
officiating. She leaves,
besides her husband, one son, Lester 7, and two daughters, Zelma
11, and Mildred 14. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
