Henry Bloom

Henry Bloom, a resident of the town of Beaver for the past 22 years, died at his farm home six and one-half miles northeast of Loyal at 12:45 Tuesday morning, August 27, 1940.

Mr. Bloom was born April 18, 1877 in Lynn County, Iowa. He attained the age of 63 years, 4 months and 9 days. His death resulted from cancer.

The year of 1916, July 12 he was married to Miss Lizzie Brechbuhl at Manchester, Iowa.

The deceased leaves to mourn his wife and six children, namely: Leo and Esther of Owen; Inez, Milwaukee; Lester, Glen, and Clifford at home. One sister, Mrs. Anna Whitney, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and one brother, L. C. Bloom, Red Cloud, Nebraska, also survive. Four sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

Mr. Bloom received his education in the Iowa schools. He was a successful farmer in the town of Beaver. He was a kind and loving husband and father and will be sadly missed by the family.

The body was taken to the Co-operative Funeral Home at Marshfield and was taken to the home Thursday.

Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at 1:30 at the home and at 2:00 at the Loyal Methodist Church of which he was a member. The Rev. Orlando Jewell officiated at the rites. Interment was made in the Beaver cemetery.

Pall bearers were Ben Erwin, Wm. Fohrman, Walter Pieper, Joseph Pachal, Emil and Joe Shefchik.

Flower girls were Lucille Fohrman, Edna Pieper, Alice Pachal, Irene Shefchik, Norma Herdrich, and Lorea Gardner.

Those from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Whitney of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Enabuit, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Whitney of Central City, Iowa, and Mr. Joseph Rossi of Milwaukee.
