Milkolainis, Bernice Bertha (7 Feb. 1938 - 21 Feb. 2005)

THORP - Bertha B. Mikolainis, 67, of Thorp, formerly of Lake Mills, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp with inurnment in New St. Hedwig's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Thorp Funeral Home, including a 7 p.m. prayer service.

Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bernice B. Mikolainis

THORP -Bernice Bertha Mikolainis, 67, of Thorp, formerly of Lake Mills, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp. Inurnment will be in New St. Hedwig's Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service Friday at Thorp Funeral Home.

Bernice was born Feb. 7, 1938, in the town of Reseburg, Clark County, to Lester and Bertha (Schnell) Butterfield. She was united in marriage to Gordon H. Czyzewicz in August 1959 and he died on Feb. 29, 1996. She then married Donald J. Mikolainis on Oct. 7, 2000, at Park City, Ill. She taught second and third grades and special education in the Lake Mills area for 31 years, retiring in 1995. The Mikolainis moved to Thorp in 2002.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Mikolainis of Thorp; three sons, James Czyzewicz, Fort Atkinson, John (Susan) Czyzewicz, Oconomowoc, and David Czyzewicz, Thorp; three stepchildren, Carol Ann (Victor) Jugo, Northbrook, Ill., Katherine (Greg) Kuhl, Deerfield, Ill., Robert Mikolainis, Skokie, Ill.; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and her brother, Robert Butterfield, Thorp.
