FESTIVITIES INCIDENT TO DOUBLE WEDDING
In last week's Tribune mention was made of a double wedding solemnized at St. Balthasar's church Jan. 7th and our readers were promised a complete "writeup" in this issue.
The double wedding, a very pretty one, took place at 9:00 o'clock in the forenoon, the Rev. Joseph F. Stenz officiating. Those united in the Holy Bonds of Matrimony were: Miss Marcella Schweiger, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Schweiger of Loyal with Mr. George Schellinger, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Schellinger of Hartford, and Miss Frances Rueth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rueth of Loyal with Mr. Max Langfeldt, son of Henry Langfeldt also of Loyal.
The brides presented a charming picture. Miss Schweiger was attired in a white satin gown trimmed with lace and wore a long tulle veil carried on her arm. Miss Rueth wore a gown of White satin faced crepe trimmed with lace and carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations and ferns. The prettily dressed bridesmaids were Lorreta Schellinger, sister of the groom, (Mr. Schellinger), who attended Miss Schweiger, and Miss Rosalind Rueth who attended her sister, Frances. Miss Schellinger wore a pink satin gown, a headband and carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations. Miss Rueth wore peach colored georgette and carried a bouquet of carnations. Groomsmen were Mr. John Schweiger, brother of Marcella, and Joseph Miller. The former attended Mr. Schellinger, the latter being Mr. Langfeldt's best man.
Following the nuptial ceremonies at the church, receptions were held at the homes of the bride's parents, respectively. The Rueth home was beautifully decorated in yellow and white, the Schweiger home in pink and white. Tuesday evening a free wedding dance was given at the M.W.A. Hall, Rhode's Orchestra furnishing the music. It is estimated that 500 people attended the dance and that about 150 cars were parked on our streets during the evening.
The brides need no introduction to our readers in this community. They are amiable and delightful young women and enjoy the high esteem of a wide circle of friends.
Mr. Langfeldt has a responsible position as metal polisher. Mr. Schellinger is an industrious young man and with his bride will establish a home on his father's farm near Hartford. Mr. and Mrs. Langfeldt will be at home in Chicago after a short honeymoon.
Hearty Congratulations and Best wishes for a long and happy wedded life follow the newly weds to their respective homes.
