Trost, Elva L. (29 SEP 1919 - 26 Feb 2005)
Elva L. Trost, 85, Greenwood, died on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at Neillsville Memorial Home, Neillsville. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 1, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Greenwood. The Rev. Terri Blomberg officiated. Burial was in the Greenwood City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tim Moore, Jeff Moore, Brad Moore, George Moore, Ken Schafer and Harry Heckel.
Elva Lucille Radke was born Sept. 29, 1919, in Greenwood, to Louis and Claudia (nee Gordon) Radke. She was raised in Greenwood and received her education at Prosperity School. She married LaVerne Polzin on April 4, 1938, in Greenwood. She worked as a cook for many years at what is now Chelsea's Supper Club, Greenwood. Her husband, LaVerne, died on April 24, 1964. She married Albert Trost on Feb. 14, 1966. She then worked as a cook for St. Mary's Catholic School, Greenwood, and also, seasonally, at the Loyal Cannery for many years. Her husband, Albert, died Oct. 2, 1992. She moved to Hometown Village, Loyal, in 1998, where she resided until entering the Neillsville Memorial Home in May of 1999. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking.
Survivors include her three daughters, Marie (George) Moore, Amery, Karen (Harry) Heckel, Marshfield, and Kay (Ken) Schafer, Marshfield; Five stepchildren, Al Jr. (Lynda) Trost, Palmer, Alaska, Nancy Molizon, Chicago, Mary Lou Cauley, Baraboo, Beverly Quandt, and Jean Steen, Baraboo; 11 grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many step great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruby Johnson, Justice, Ill.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, LaVerne and Albert; one granddaughter; four sisters, Rose Pagelsdorf. Julia Schofield, Aimee Radke, and Dorothy Greene; and four brothers, Archie Radke. Ernest Radke, Ira Radke, and Roy Radke.
Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, assisted the family with Arrangements.
