Alphonse 'Al' J. Volovsek
GREENWOOD - Alphonse "Al" J. Volovsek, 80, Greenwood, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at the Clark County Health Care Center.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cuddie Funeral Home in Greenwood with a combined parish and Knights of Columbus rosary service held at 6 p.m.
He was born Oct. 18, 1924, in St. Martins the son of Frank and Anna (Flis) Volovsek. He married Virginia Ann Herkert on June 1, 1949, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield. They farmed in Willard and then Greenwood until 1989.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia, Greenwood; five children, Rich (Barb), Eagan, Minn., Ron (Judy), Willard, Roger (Carol), Willard, Donna (Greg) Lindner, Greenwood, and Debra (Joe) Ortner, Greenwood; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (Vitko) Staut, Greenwood, Margie Jeras, Apache Junction, Ariz., and Betty Fraid, West Allis; and three brothers, Stanley (Darlene), Greenwood, Tony, Kamiah, Idaho, and John, Eagle Pass, Texas.
(Additional information): Al is predeceased by his parents; brothers, Frank Jr., Joseph, and William; and a sister, Anna (Volovsek) Sladich/Lohrman.
