ASYLUM SITES RECOMMENDED
On Thursday the county board insane asylum committee met in this city and went over the various sites offered for the new county asylum.
The committee was John Verkuilen, C. F. Brooks and Geo. Jacques. A number of sites which were considered by all were finally elimated (sic) with the exception of a site at Neillsville and one at Owen. These two were finally recommended and will be up before the annual fall meeting of the county board.
The Neillsville site is that of the old M. C. Ring stock farm eas of this city and the Owen site is that of the Withee and Johnson farms east of Owen. Both are very excellent sites and either would make a fine suit (sic) for the new asylum.--Neillsville Times.
(A Greenwood Gleaner headline of November 20, 1919 says: "New Asylum to be Located at Owen.")
