Wright, Vernon H. (2 JUN 1891 - 2 NOV 1950)
Granton, Clark County, Wis. - Vernon H. Wright, 59, died at his home in Milwaukee Thursday night, Nov. 2, following a long illness. Death was attributed to a heart ailment.
Mr. Wright was born in Granton, June 2, 1891. He was the youngest child of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Wright, pioneer settlers of this community. He attended Granton Public Schools and was graduated from Neillsville High School. He also attended Business College in Eau Claire. After this he moved to Milwaukee where he has lived since.
He is remembered by Granton residents for his athletic ability having been a member of the first basketball team organized in the village.
He is survived by his widow, the former Marjorie Winter, formerly of Augusta; a daughter, Mrs. John (Roberta) Thode, Milwaukee; a sister, Mrs. Rella Osgood, Granton; and a brother, Roy, Humbird.
Burial services were held at a Milwaukee cemetery.
