Menke, Bertha L. (6 Jan 1870 - 3 NOV 1950)

Granton, Clark County, Wis. - Bertha L. Menke, 80, route 2, Granton, died at the home of her son, Clarence, Town of Fremont, Clark County, Friday night at 10 p.m. The cause of her death was bronchial pneumonia.

Funeral services were held today at the Gilbertson Funeral Home and at the Methodist Church in Lindsey. The Rev. Lee Holmes, Loyal, officiated and burial was made in the Nasonville Cemetery.

Mrs. Menke, nee Bertha Yerk, was born Jan. 6, 1870, at Mackford in Green Lake Co. She was married Nov. 26, 1902, to William C. Menke at Mackford.

She had been a resident of the Lindsey area for the past 39 years, having lived on a farm during that time. She was a member of the Lindsey Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Allen, at home, and Clarence, Town of Fremont; and one grandchild. Two brothers, Frank Yerk, Branton; and Henry Yerk, Fairwater, also survive.

One brother preceded her in death.
