DIED

PETERSON -- In this village (Colby, WI), on Wednesday, the 13th inst., at the residence of Mr. N. P. Peterson, of typhoid fever, Ole Peterson, in the 23d year of his age.

Ole came to America from Denmark in 1878. He came direct to this place, where he arrived in June, and entered into business with his brother, Mr. N. P. Peterson. He was a skilled mechanic and a temperate and industrious young man. About three weeks ago he conceived the idea of going to Medford, thinking he might do better there at his trade, which was that of wagon maker, than he could here. He was not well when he went away and was taken worse upon his arrival at Medford, and kept growing worse. About a week before his death his brother went to Medford and brought him home where everything possible was done to foil the grim monster, but, all was unavailing and death claimed him as one of his victims. Ole leaves, to mourn his untimely death, a brother, and a young lady, Miss Julia Gunderson, to whom we was to have been married in the spring, who have the sincerest sympathies of the whole community. The funeral ceremonies were held at the school house, on Friday, Rev. Charles Barker officiating.
