Paul A. Brehm, Route 1, Rhinelander, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Brehm, Unity, received his Master of Science degree from University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point, August 6, 1976.

Brehm is teaching junior high mathematics in the Tomahawk school system.

He is a graduate of Colby High School in 1967, and Medford Teacher’s College in 1969.

Knight, Chester “Chet” (21 Feb 1908 – 10 Sep 1976)

Funeral services were held Monday, September 13, 1976 for Chester (Chet) Knight, age 68, Abbotsford, at the Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford. The Rev. Kenneth Loehrke officiated at the 10:30 a.m. rites.

Mrs. Beverly Kramer was soloist, and Mrs. Norman Kommer was organist.
Pallbearers were Howard Kramer, Ed Kramer, Ed Lueth, Ray Holtz, Dr. A. C. Dehn, and Walter Klay.
Entombment followed in Wisconsin Memorial Park at Brookfield.
Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Knight died unexpectedly at his home, Friday, September 10.

He was born in Owen on February 21, 1908, and was education in Owen schools.

On May 28, 1932 he married the former Anna Raasch at Milwaukee.

They came to Abbotsford in 1942 and her worked for the Stan Thompson Oil Company. He purchased the company in 1953 and operated it until 1971.

Mr. Knight was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford.

Besides his widow, he is survived by two sons, Gordon, Colby, and Douglas, Milton, Florida; six grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Pearl Lokken, Curtiss, Mrs. Hazel Pettis, and Selma Ecke, both of Sheboygan, and Mrs. Beatrice Thorson, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by one sister and two grandchildren.

The Abbotsford High School class of 1966 had a reunion Saturday, September 4, 1976. Dinner was at the Olde Cedar House. A moment of silence was held in memory of deceased classmate Dennis Zwirchitz. After dinner the group adjourned to the city hall for a the program and entertainment, which was in three parts. First was “who’s Who in the class of ‘66”, featuring Carnac the Great.

The second part was “the good, the bad and the ugly:, which was the presentation of many awards with slides.

Part three was the “Sock Hop”, dancing to records from the ‘50’s and ‘60’. The music box was through the courtesy of Jim Schiferl. The stage and sound effects were through the courtesy of Martin Schultz, via the high school. The hall was decorated in the school colors of red, black and white. An added attraction was Virginia Jackson and Dave Gierl, who were attired as Peggy Sue and the Fonz.

A letter to the class was read from Mr. and Mrs. Art (Pat Mantik) Plowman, Dickinson, North Dakota.

The committee in charge of arrangements was Clayton Kattre, Duane Grube, Sandy Orth, Ruth Ann Mueller, and Wendy Kramas. Another reunion is planning five years, with the possibility of joining with the class of 1965.

Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Tom (Jennie Weideman) Klein, Riverside, California. They won the prize for the farthest distance and first to respond; Mr. and Mrs. Heinz (Linda Dorn) Richter, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Leahy, Cumberland; Mr. and Mrs. Bob (Judy Huss) Tomesh, River Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Brent Bower, Appleton; Mr. and Mrs. Jon (Diane Anderson) Dalnodar and Mr. and Mrs. Dale (Judy Augustine) Christopherson, Wausau; Bruce Klocke and Mavis Schmidt, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. John Hopperdeitzel, Neenah; Mr. and Mrs. Gary (Judy Broeske) Jicinski, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Dennis (Diane Olson), Lulloff, Owen; Buck Colby, Stevens Point; Marlene Schelling, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Nancy Weideman) Goldschmidt, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Terry Kelsey, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry (Bonita Wogernese) Horacek, who tied for a prize for the most children – four; Mr. and Mrs. Gordon (Barb Fasse) Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Olsen, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis (Sandy Krueger) Orth, Mr. and Mrs. John (Ruth Meske) Mueller, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Grube, Mr. and Mrs. John (Pat Spence) Hutman, Mr. and Mrs. Paul (Wendy Wojner) Kramas and Clayton Kattre and guest, all of Abbotsford.

Mr. and Mrs. Martin Schultz and Andy Ruzeck got an award for teacher with the best sense of humor.

The family of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gebert helped them celebrate their 46th wedding anniversary at Stetsonville on August 28, 1976. There was a dinner, dancing and visiting.

All the children were present except a son, Lyle, of Wallkill, New York.

The others attending were Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Wildman and family, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gebert and daughter, all of Wausau; Lyn Gebert, Underhill; Mr. and Mrs. Gary Gebert and family, Dorchester; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Gebert and family, Medford; Mr. and Mrs. Elliot Gebert, Saukville; Mr. and Mrs. Kenton Marti and family, Oconomowoc, and 21 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

About 100 relatives were present from Allentown, Ohio, Milwaukee, Pepin, Wisconsin Rapids, Neillsville, Medford, Stetsonville, Wausau, and Abbotsford.

Joseph Mueller returned home September 5, 1976 from a four week visit with relatives in Germany. He visited two brothers at Wurttemberg, and three sisters at Schwabischgund. There he also visited with several nieces and nephews. At Bingwangen, he attended the 50th anniversary observance of his sister, Sister Agona, in the Order of the Sisters of mercy. He also visited Mr. and Mrs. Glen Oleson, formerly of Dorchester, where he is stationed with the U.S. Army at Bamberg.
