Luce, Alfred L. (19 JUN 1879 - 15 Jul 1955)

Loyal, Clark County, Wis. - A 76 year old Loyal resident, Alfred L. Luce, died at 12:30 p.m. Friday at his home on route 1, after a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Loyal Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles A. Swanson officiating. Interment will take place in the Spencer Cemetery.

Mr. Luce was born June 19, 1879, in Richland Co., where he received his education and was married to Pearl Francois on Sept. 7, 1918. The couple lived there until 1945, when they came to Spencer. A year ago they came to the town of Loyal.

Mr. Luce is survived by his wife, three sons, Isaac Luce, U. S. Navy; Charles Luce, U. S. Army, and Alfred Luce Jr., Loyal; four daughters, Mrs. Russell (Geneva) Holmes, Loyal; Mrs. Robert (Mary) Schadel, Markham, Ill.; Mrs. Herbert (Marjorie) Marshcner, Marshfield; and Barbara, at home; a sister, Mrs. Elnore Underhill, Reedsburg; two half-brothers, Frank Biers, Mineral Point, and William Biers, Lime Ridge; and 12 grandchildren.

A sister preceded him in death.

Friends May call at the Myre Funeral Home, where the body will repose from Sunday noon until Monday noon, when it will be taken to the church.
