Vandeberg, William (18 JUN 1874 - 21 Jan 1961)
Neillsville Clark County, Wis. - Services were held at Georgas Funeral Home here at 2 o'clock this afternoon for William Vandeberg, 86, a former Neillsville resident, who died at Fond du Lac Saturday. The Rev. Virgil Holmes, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was made in the town of York Cemetery.
Mr. Vandeberg was born June 18, 1874, in Fond du Lac Co. and came to Clark County as a young man. He worked in the woods and on farms for several years and retired from farming in 1920, when he moved to the city. He was employed as a caretaker at the Neillsville Cemetery for several years. He moved to Fond du Lac in 1940.
His marriage to the former Jessie Brown took place in 1902, at Granton. She preceded him in death in 1926.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Minnie) Eide, Columbus, Miss.; and Mrs. Robert (Pearl) Elmhorst, route 1, Granton; three sons, Almond, Prescott; Chris, route 2, Neillsville; and Willie, St. Paul, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Christina Crow, Oshkosh; and Mrs. Gust (Jennie) Radke, Waupun; a brother, Chris Vandeberg, Waupun; 25 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Others, in addition to his wife, who preceded him in death were two sons, a brother, two sisters and four half-brothers.
