DORCHESTER REPORTER (Dorchester, Clark Co., WI) 08/02/1901 Collier, Minerva
(2 Jan 1866 - 29 Jul 1901) Mrs. Minerva
Collier, wife of H. J. Collier of the town of Hoard, Clark County,
quietly passed away Monday morning at 10 o'clock, at the age
of 35 years. She was ill with quick consumption only three weeks
when she died. The funeral
services were held at 11:30, Wednesday morning at the Baptist
Church, Rev. DeLapp of Medford officiating. The remains were
interred in the Union Cemetery south of the village. Mrs. Collier, nee
Wilcox, was born near Toronto, Canada, on Jan. 2nd, 1866. She lived
with her parents until 1896, when she went to Minneapolis to live
with her brother, Charles. On Feb. 8th, 1900, she was united in
marriage to H. J. Collier, at Minneapolis, and came here and lived
on his farm, one mile north and six miles west of this village,
until the time of her death. Besides a husband and his five
children she leaves an aged father in Canada, and three brothers,
one is a very prominent lawyer in Yankton, N.D., and the other two
hold very high positions with the Metropolitan Insurance Co. at
Minneapolis, to mourn her loss. Mrs. Collier was a quiet,
industrious woman, who made fast friends where ever she went and
was loved by all who knew her. We join with her
many friends in extending our heartfelt sympathy to the
bereaved. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
