PAUL R BARTELL

Paul R Bartell, age 75, of Wausau died unexpectedly Monday, April 28, 2003, at his home.

Paul was born July 30, 1927, in Neillsville to the late Paul A and Emma (Klawitter) Bartell. He attended St. John's Lutheran School at Neillsville and was confirmed June 1, 1941. He also attended the Neillsville High School and was active in many activities, band, sports, plays, etc., and he was Salutatorian of the Class of 1945.

He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and served in the U.S. Navy. Paul married Diane Grim on Dec. 27, 1952 in Tipp City, OH. Paul was president of Business Service Center consisting of Presto Prints and Telephone Answering Service.

He was a member and Past President of the Wausau Rotary Club and honored as a Paul Harris Fellow. Paul was Past President of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and served as an usher; Past President ATSI (Association of Tele-messaging Services International); Past Board of Directors NAEO (National Association of Amtelco Equipment Operators); served on the United Way Board of Directors; and First President of Backyurjax Wausau East Athletic Booster Club.

Surviving Paul is his wife, Diane of Wausau; sons, Bradley P and Bruce N (Melinda), of Wausau; brother, Don J ("Boots"), of Springfield, VA; sister, Hilde Schlice, of Stevens Point; and many nephews and nieces.

Funeral services were May 1st, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Wausau, with burial at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials May be given in Paul's memory to the Pilgrim Lutheran Church or the Wausau Area Community Foundation.

Brainard Funeral Home, Wausau, assisted the family with arrangements.
