Miller, Kathleen Gail (10 Sep 1976)
Kathleen Gail Miller and Bryan James Hauser were united in marriage Friday
evening, September 10, 1976 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby. Father Frank
Rushman officiated at the double ring ceremony.
Parents of the newlyweds are Mr. and Mrs. Leo D. Miller, Colby, and Mr. and Mrs.
James M. Hauser, Unity.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a long sleeved bridal
gown of crepe-de-Chien fashioned with high rise waistline and gathered skirt.
The bodice featured a high collar and a sheer yoke bordered with pearl encrusted
Venetian lace. The chapel train, attached at the waist, was edged in Chantilly
lace and embroidered with seed pearls. Her bouffant veil was held in place with
a tiara headpiece of lace medallions. She carried a cascade arrangement of white
silk roses, blue daisies, stephanotis and baby’s breath.
Janet Miller, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a gown of flocked
nylon over blue satin, fashioned with long puffed sleeves, empire waist,
flounced skirt and a square neckline trimmed with interwoven ribbon and lace. In
her hair she wore a floral garland that matched her nosegay of blue delphiniums,
daisies, and forget-me-nots.
Daniel J. Iwanski, Wausau, was best man. Ushers were Bruce Hauser and Roger
Hamus.
Mrs. Al Gabriel was ceremony organist and Peggy Watson, Rudolph, was guest book
attendant.
A reception and dance were held at the VFW clubhouse following the ceremony.
The bride is a graduate of Colby High School and North Central Technical
Institute, Wausau. Besies her diploma in the field of clerk-typist, she has
received one year of schooling in interpreter technician training.
The bridegroom graduated from Colby High School and received his associate
degree in data processing at NCTI this spring. He is presently employed at
Menzner Lumber and Supply Company in Marathon.

The Rev. Clem H. Dozer became the new pastor of Salem United Methodist Church at
Dorchester last week, to replace the Rev. Ray Gurney, who accepted a call to a
congregation in West Bend. Rev. Dozer comes here from Allentown, Pennsylvania.
He and Mrs. Dozer and their family of three sons will reside in Medford. Her
serves the congregations at Medford and Rib Lake, as well as at Dorchester.

Gumz, Mr./Mrs. Henry (40th – Sep 1976)
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gumz observed their 40th wedding anniversary Friday night at
the Holton Town Hall. Attendants At the original weeding who were present
included: Mr. and Mrs. Ed (Clara) Dobberton, Phoenix, Arizona, sister of Mrs.
Gumz; Mrs. Ella Laessig, Stratford, his sister; Martha Stargardt, Wausau; and
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Ruprich, Dorchester, friends of the couple.
Cards were played for entertainment, and Lawrence Hopfensberger provided
concertina music for dancing. Lunch and refreshments were served.
Guests who attended included: Terry Schutz, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Riske, Carol
Riske, Mrs. Jean Bernstein, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Zaidel, Caroline and Robert Riske,
and Densia Yahn, all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gumz, Columbus; Mr. and Mrs.
Joe Hulwi, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Krenz, Merrill; Mr. and Mrs. Irvin
Corey, Marathon; Mr. and Mrs. George Zondlo, Rib Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Dan Plautz,
Wausau; Jim Lutz, Marshfield; and many relatives and friends from the Medford,
Athens, Stetsonville, Colby, Abbotsford and Dorchester areas.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Heindl and Mrs. and Mrs. Gary Halopka, rural Dorchester,
were guests of the Jacques Seed Company on a trip to Nashville Tennessee, Friday
until Sunday. They drive to Green Bay and from there went by air to Nashville.
They toured the city, and also Opryland, where they met the singing starts; and
also attended the Grand O’ Opera. They returned home Sunday night.

Olga Genrich was honored Saturday evening at a family dinner at her home in
observance of her 85th birthday. All of her brothers were present for the
occasion. They included: Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Genrich and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
Genrich, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Genrich, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Genrich, Elmer
Genrich and Hugo Genrich, Dorchester.
The dinner was prepared by two nephews, Philip Genrich, Milwaukee, and Randall,
Minneapolis, both of whom were “God-children.: Mrs. Randall Genrich and family
were also present for the dinner.

at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. They named her Melissa Ann, and she
weighed 4 pounds and was 19 inches long.

Westboro.
