McNamara, Roy (5 March 1925 - 19 Jan. 2005)

Roy McNamara, 79, of 627 Park Ave., Stanley, and formerly of Cadott passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

He was born on March 5th, 1925 in Greenwood, WI. to Eugene and Bridget (O'Meara) McNamara. Roy served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was employed at Case, Hamms Dairy, Presto and Stanley Corp.

Roy married Velma J. Hartman on April 21, 1947 in Decorah, Iowa. They lived in Racine until moving to the Town of Sigel in 1956. Velma preceded him in death on February 21, 1990. Roy married Vicki Anderson on May 24,1991. Following marriage they lived in Stanley.

He is survived by his wife Vicki; sons Terry (Vicki) McNamara of Wisconsin Dells, Scott (Kim) McNamara and Timothy (Sharyl) McNamara both of Cadott; daughters Cindy (Gary) Thalacker of Colby, Vickie (Daniel) Derks of Stanley, Sandy (Dave) Peterson of Cadott, Connie Fitzl and Chris (David) Harel both of Chippewa Falls; step-children Vickie (Loren) Olson, John (Linda) Smoczyk, Audrey (Bruce) Fitzl, and Harry Smoczyk, Jr., all of Stanley, Kathy Licht and Pat Smoczyk both of Chippewa Falls, Elaine (Peter) Gillen of Eau Claire and Bill (Lisa) Smoczyk of Thorp; sisters Evelyn Shilts of Chippewa Falls and Pearl Clouse of Neillsville, 23 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 23 step grandchildren and 20 step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Velma, daughters Roxanne M. Nelson and Robin Lynn McNamara, his parents, brother Eugene McNamara and sisters Ruby Hutchinson, Sylvia Greene and twins Mildred and Elaine McNamara, step great grandchild Sheyann DeKarski.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the Leiser Funeral Home with Father Bob Nelson officiating.

Interment will be in Prairie View Cemetery in the Village of Lake Hallie with Military Honors conducted by The Cadott American Legion and VFW.

Family and Friends may call at the Leiser Funeral Home on Friday from 4--8 p.m. and also one hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.
