Lee, Mary H. (5 June 1854 - 3 May 1933)

Funeral services were held at the A. F. Lee home Wednesday, May 3, at 1:30 p.m. for Mrs. Mary Lee, a pioneer residence of the town of Fremont, who died of a heart attack Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Howard Erwin, Milwaukee. The service was conducted by Rev. G. W. Longenecker, Neillsville, a close friend of the family.

Mrs. Lee was born at Essex, Vermont, June 5, in 1854, moving in childhood with her parents to St. Lawrence county, N. Y., where she was married to T. F. Lee, Jan. 29, 1874.

In 1878 they came to Clark County, where they settled on a tract of wild land, where they lived until about five years ago when old age, poor health and adversity compelled them to live with their children. Mr. Lee died Feb. 21, 1930. There are five children left to mourn her departure, viz.: Ara F. and Ernest W. of Fremont; Vinton D. of Pleasant Ridge; L. Dale, York and Ruth, (Mrs. Howard Erwin) Milwaukee. There are also eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Those from away who were here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. H. Erwin, Milwaukee, Frank Davis, Mrs. George Prochazka, Mrs. Belle Butterfield and A. Huckstead Neillsville, and Mr. Bruce Erwin, Nasonville.
