Miss Hazel Baker is spending a few days at the George Ure home.
Charles Hiles, Wm. Wagner John Wuethrich and Tom Howard were guests of Kiwanis Club dinner Monday.
Mr and Mrs. Leslie Yorkston and son visited her sister at Tomahawk over the weekend.

Mrs. F. B. Wing and grandson, John Young, returned home to Abbotsford Sunday, after spending a few days at the Mrs. Mary Mac Millan home.
Mr and Mrs. E. J. Ketel dove down from Ladysmith Saturday night and were guests at Judge and Mrs. Crosby’s Sunday they drove to Fond du Lac, the Crosbys going with them. Mr. Ketel attended a convention in Fond du Lac.
Miss Mary Ketel, Miss Jean Bisel, Miss Clare Jean Devrux and Calos Peterson drove down from Ladysmith Sunday and were weekend guests of Miss Genevieve Welsh and other friends in Neillsville.
Announcement has been made that Dr. R. L. Barnes has been appointed postmaster at Greenwood and will assume the duties of the office as soon as his commission is received.
W. H. Wiegert, chairman of the town of Foster, was a business caller here Monday, Mr. Weigert, who lived on the "cut-off" on Highway 10, states that it is hope paving will be finished this week. He produces strawberries and raspberries and brought over several crates of the former Monday. *spelling of surname is like in the original write up.

Mr and Mrs. A. W. Olson and two children, Billy and Andrea of Rice Lake, came last Wednesday for a visit at the home of Mrs. Olson’s mother, Mrs. August Gluck.
Oscar Gluck, who teaches at South Milwaukee came home last week after spending a few days at the World’s Fair in Chicago.
Mr and Mrs. Robert Ebbe and three children and Hannah Hanson, all of Wisconsin Rapids were visitors Friday at the George Ebbe home.

Mrs. Louis Kurth and daughter, Jean, left Sunday for Chicago, where they will spend 10 days at the World’s Fair.
Everett P. Skroch, student at the University of Wisconsin, received the degree of Bachelor of Arts at the 80th annual commencement exercises of the state’s major educational institution June 19. More than 1,700 bachelor’s and higher degrees were conferred at the exercises in the presence of thousands of parents and relatives of the graduates. The degrees were presented by Dr. Glenn Frank, president of the institution.
Prof. Geo. W. Schmidt of the town of Worden was a welcome caller at the Press office Saturday morning. Prof. Schmidt represented Clark County in the Assembly in the year ** rest cut off. ********
Marie Kubat, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kubat, has been laid up several days recovering from chloroform burns suffered during the extraction of several teeth last week.

The Inter Church Mission Sturdy Club will have its annual picnic at the Indian School on Friday afternoon. Anyone interested is invited to come. Bring your own dishes, a few sandwiches and one other article for the supper. The election of officers should be held at this time.
Miss Josephine Bass came home Friday from Minneapolis, having finished her year’s work as teacher in the schools there.
Mrs. R. N. Junkman and daughter, Lois, and Mrs. Kenneth White, all of River Falls, drove down Tuesday to visit relatives and friends until Saturday. Mrs. Junkman is the guest of Mrs. Minnie Markham, Mrs. White is visiting at the John Pietenpol home in York.
Lloyd Watters and daughters Mary and Dorothy, came up from Oshkosh Monday for a few days visit at the Ben Brown home.
Mr and Mrs. W. L. Smith, Jr, and son are spending a few weeks at the family cottage on Lake Arbutus.
Mr and Mrs. Harry Irwin of Two Harbors, Minn., are visiting at the Leo Jackson home. Mrs. Jackson will return with them this week for an extended visit.
Dr. William Olson, Blanchardville, brother of Carl, is in the city considering the possibilities of establishing a medical practice here. Dr. Olson finished his course his year.
Mr and Mrs. Fred Switenberg and Mr. and Mrs. Lyon are camping at the Warlum cottage on Lake Arbutus. Mr. Lyon is principal of the Barron Schools.

Mrs. Agnes Keller attended a Rebecca meeting at Oconto last week. On the way she stopped to see Christian Ebbe at the Odd Fellows home at Green Bay. Mr. Ebbe is 96 years old and in quite good health.
A dancing party was given at the Pinecrest Golf Club house Tuesday night. A luncheon and refreshments were served at midnight.
Mrs. Kate Mike returned Monday from visiting her son’s grave in France. She was enthusiastic over the wonderful treatment she received on the trip. John Rude and Myron Wilding drove her down to her home below Dells Dam as her relatives had not expected her to come in on the afternoon train.
Canning of peas began Wednesday at Humbird. It is expected that Neillsville canning will probably start next week some time.
