Meacham, John D. (18 May 1867 - 7 Sep 1929)
John Dorn Meacham was born on May 18, 1867, in the town of Cadiz, Green County, Wisconsin. He came to Clark County with his parents in 1876 at the age of nine years and died at the Marshfield Hospital following a serious operation for ulcers of the bowels, Sept. 7, 1929.
In 1900 Mr. Meacham purchased an 80 acre farm on which he resided until his death. June 23, 1901 he was united in marriage with Miss Mary Smith of Sparta. To this union the following children were born: Clarissa, Harvey, Alice, Kenneth, Earl, Roscoe and Joyce, all at home, except Clarissa, who is Mrs. Aug. Dankmyer and lives at Tigerton, Wis. Besides his seven children, he leaves to mourn his loss his wife, three brothers, two sisters, and four grandchildren.
He was always a kind and indulgent husband and father, honest and just in all his dealings, ever ready to lend a helping hand, and had a kind word and smile for all, leaving behind him a record of which all might be proud. Those form away who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Meachem, Mr. and Mrs. James Palm, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Meacham, Mrs. And Mrs. Henry Kupper, Mrs. A. Alelson, Mrs. Arthur Eyler, Mrs. C. Palen, Mr. Paul Meacham, all of ( the next ten lines were cut off do to the copier)
