Abel, David (10 OCT 1860 - 10 OCT 1929)
David Abel was born, Oct. 10, 1860 in the province of Ontario, Canada. He came to the U.S. when a young man, where he soon became a citizen. He was married at Pattersonville, Iowa, in 1885, to Estella Miller. To this union was born four children, one dying in infancy.
They lived in Rock Valley, Iowa until 1895 when they moved to Toledo, Iowa. In 1920 they came to Loyal, Wis., where his wife died on Dec. 12, 1925. About a year ago he moved to Abbotsford, Wis. He had been spending the winters in Florida and had started south last Monday going thru’ Iowa where he was intending to visit relatives and friends. He was killed in an automobile accident about noon Thursday, Oct. 10, near Algona, Iowa on his 69th birthday.
He leaves to mourn his loss two sons and one daughter Harry of Des Moines, Iowa and Mrs. Grace Yelik of Granton, Wis. Also six grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Harry Johnson of Artesia, Cal., and Mrs. Mary Martin of Winona, Ont., Canada. Also other relatives and a host of friends.
He was a loving father and devoted husband and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The pall bearers were the Messrs Mr. Seidelmann, W. Seidlmann, G. Kronberger, G. Kuester, J. Wedl and W. Shellhammer.
Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Internment was made in the Loyal Cemetery.
