Smith, George (15 AUG 1847 - 23 OCT 1929)
George Smith died at the home of his daughter Mary Nutting, in the town of Goodrich, Oct. 23, 1929. He was born in St. John’s, New Brunswick, Aug. 15, 1847. When he was three years old his parents moved to Manitowoc, Wis., where he lived until he was united in marriage to Miss Hannah Barber, and moved to Chilton. He lived there until 1882, when he moved to Boyd. In 1896 he moved to Clark County where he engaged in the mercantile business in Neillsville, until 1903. He sold out and moved to North Dakota where he took up a homestead. In 1911 his wife died, leaving him and one son George Jr., and two daughters, Mary Nutting, wife of W. Nutting, and Laura Barker, wife of W. G. Barker. In 1919 he moved to ( the rest was cut off in my copy)
