Jenks, George (24 JUN 1844 - 28 NOV 1929)
George Jenks was born in Lyden Township, Lewis County, New York June 24th, 1844 and died after a short illness of pneumonia, in Baltimore, Maryland, Nov.28, 1929.
When nineteen of age he moved with his parents Wm. Martin and Mary Ann ( Kent) Jenks to a farm a mile and a half south of Aztalan, Jefferson County, Wis. On March 16, 1868 he married Mariah, Elizabeth Millard. Having purchased the farm formerly owned by his parents he continued to reside there for a period of 29 years. Here their four children, John K., Romeyn M., Arthur H., and Carrie H. were born.
He was well known and respected farmer and took an active interest in the civic affairs of the community. He also took an active part (The rest was cut off in my copy)
