Anzalone, Clare J. (4 Jan. 1919 - 4 May 2004)

Clare J. Anzalone, age 85, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully on the morning of May 4, 2004, at Luther Hospital following complications arising from several chronic medical conditions. She most recently had resided at the Grace Edgewood assisted living facility in Altoona.

Clare was born January 4, 1919, the third child of seven, to Anna and Herman Klabon in Chicago, Illinois. Shortly after her birth the family moved to Withee, Wis., where she spent her childhood and formative years. She married Anthony Anzalone in Chicago, Ill., and they remained there until moving to Eau Claire in 1978. Tony died in Eau Claire in August of 1995.

Clare is survived by her daughter, Joy (Joseph) Motto, of Eau Claire; three sisters, Ruth Erickson of Withee, Jenny Hendricks of Eau Claire and June (James) Boening of Aurora, Colo.; four grandchildren, Laura (Rob) Mattison of Altoona, Joseph (Carlene) Motto of Lemont, Ill., James Motto of Apple Valley, Minn., and Jennifer Motto of Eau Claire; six great-grandchildren, Joe, Kelsey, Carly, Hunter, Emma and Ramsey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Anthony, she was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Reinhold, Oswald and John Klabon.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 7, 2004, from 4 until 7 p. m. at Fuller-Speckien Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at Sacred Heart Hospital Chapel on Saturday, May 8, at 11 a.m., with Father Edmund Klimek officiating. A private burial service for family members will precede this service.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be given to Luther Hospital, the Eau Claire County Humane Association, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Family and friends may sign the guest book online at www.fullerspeckien.com.

Fuller-Speckien Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
