HAMPTON-Eleonora K. Kelson, 95, of Blue Springs, Mo., formerly of the Heritage House in Hampton, died of natural causes Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, at St. Mary's Manor in Blue Springs. Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 21, at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Hampton with the Rev. Mary Peterson officiating. Burial followed in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
Eleonora was born May 20, 1909, in rural Franklin County to Jakob and Kjesten (Jorgensen) Christensen. She graduated from high school in Withee, Wis., and on July 12, 1932, she was united in marriage with Alfred J. Kelson in Momence, Ill. Eleonora was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, traveling, playing cards, gardening and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include two daughters, Myrtle E. Zalac of Downers Grove, Ill., and Alice Pierce and husband Bill of Blue Springs; a son, Allan Dean and wife Sharon Kelson of Scottsdale, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred; two sisters; three brothers; one son, R. Gene Kelson; and an infant daughter, Carol.
Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton was in charge of the arrangements.
