Schulze, Esther F. (28 Augl 1918 - 7 Mar 2005)

Esther F. Schulze, 86, Neenah, died unexpectedly in Marshfield Monday, March 7, 2005, at her sister’s home in Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 11, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Neenah. The Rev. Catherine A. K. Mode officiated. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah.

Esther F. Bloom was born Aug. 28, 1918, in Loyal, to Henry and Elsie (nee Brechbuhl) Bloom. She graduated from Loyal High School and then put herself through nursing school in Eau Claire. She served the U.S. military effort in the Cadet Corps which supported the national defense during WWll. She worked at Cook County Hospital, Chicago, and then at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire. She married Albert Schulze on Nov. 25, 1954, in Chippewa Falls. He preceded her in death on May 9, 2000. Following their marriage, they moved to Owen-Withee where she worked as a home duty nurse. They moved to Neenah in 1959. She enjoyed sewing and knitting, especially making Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. Her other hobbies were gardening, reading and baking. Cookies and pies were her specialty. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Neenah, and active in their Mission Circle. She was also a volunteer at Theda Clark Medical Center.

Survivors include a daughter, Jean (Peter) Pfundtner, Appleton; a sister, Inez Ockershauser, Marshfield; two brothers, Glen (Agnes) Bloom, Loyal, and Clifford (Hissako) Bloom, China; and nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Albert; and two brothers, Leo Bloom and Lester Bloom.

Memorials May be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

Westgor Funeral Home, Neenah, assisted the family with arrangements.
