LaBossier and daughter Inez went to Fond du Lac last Thursday night
to attend the funeral of Mrs. LaBossier’s father, Isaac Roy.
Henry returned home Monday morning. Below we give a brief history
of the deceased who was quite well acquainted in this neighborhood
(Dorchester, Clark County, Wis.): Isaac Roy was born in La Acadia,
Canada, in 1819, where he spent 48 years of his life. During that
time he engaged chiefly in agriculture. He was mayor of his native
city for seven years and for three years held an office as
government inspector. He was married in 1837 to Julia Ebert, whose
death occurred march 10, 1891. In 1867 he came to the U. S. With
his family and since that time, with the exception of his last
declining years, he has done carpenter work. He passed away
Wednesday morning, at eight o’clock, at the home of his
daughter, Mrs. F. E. Marcoe, 100 East Second St., Fond du Lac, at
the age of 83 years. Mr. roy is survived by seven children: Legary
E. Mrs. L. LaBeau and Mrs. F. E. Marcoe of Fond du Lac, Nelson J.
of St. Cyprien, Canada, Mrs. Eloise Smith of St. Jean, Canada, Mrs.
S. Marion of Stetsonville, Wis., and Mrs. H. LaBossier of this
village. He is also survived by 48 grandchildren and 45
great-grandchildren. The funeral services were held from St. Louis
Church at Fond du Lac at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Interment took place
