Barager, James A. (? - 7 May 1903)

James A. Barager, proprietor of this paper, died in the Hospital at Eau Claire Thursday last, after an illness of several weeks. He has been suffering from appendicitis for some time previous to his going to the hospital and it was finally necessary to perform and operation. The operation was considered successful and until the last few days, the patient was doing very well. The funeral services were held in the Congregational Church Friday and the body was taken after to Ashland for interment. (Withee Sentinel)

The deceased was quite well acquainted here as he at one time owned the newspaper at Medford. The bereaved family has the heartfelt sympathy of the friends in this vicinity.
