THORP - Ragna Smasal, 99, Thorp, died March 31, 2004, at Oakbrook Health and Rehabilitation Center, Thorp.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, with a parish rosary service at 7 p.m.

Ragna was born May 5, 1905, in Stanley. She and Arthur Smasal were married Jan. 26, 1926. He died Dec. 5, 1986. They farmed in the Owen-Withee area, and she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters-in-law Marguerite Smasal of Withee and Donna Smasal of Chippewa Falls; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
