N. P. Peterson is out with hand bills advertising his New Logging Sleighs, Lumbermen should govern themselves accordingly.
from THE PHONOGRAPH, Colby, WI, Jan. 15, 1879
N. P. Peterson employs 4 men on bob-sleighs, he has made a number of these sleigs, and can hardly, with all hands at the bellows, or some other place about the shop, keep up with the orders, notwithstanding they work night and day.
from THE PHONOGRAPH, Colby, WI, April 23, 1879
We had the pleasure on Friday last, of seeing the first wagon manufactured in Colby. It was made by N. P. Peterson, and is well calculated for this country, not very heavy but well ironed, so as to make it stout enough for almost any use. There is no sense or reason in our people sending down the line and getting wagons built for use on smooth roads and trying to run them in the woods, when they can get them at home, better adapted to the country, for the same money. If you go down to Peterson's you'll say the same as I do.
